My name is Fatima Sghiri. I am an photographer with Belgian and Moroccan roots. I live between Geneva, Vaud and vibrant Antwerp, where I started photography. My grandmother was a furniture maker and thanks to her I got fascinated with interiors and design. Many people in my family created unique homes so I remember from my early years how happy, calm, and joyful I felt in a space designed with harmony. Now I convey these feelings and atmosphere in my photographs. I help interior designers and architects create outstanding portfolios so they can bring their vision to a wider audience and find the best client match. When I was 22, I left for New York with a pocket-sized portfolio. I wanted to develop my photography skills and assisted Marco Glaviano at the famous Pier 59 Studios. Later I worked for Condé Nast Traveller, Elle Decoration and Sotheby’s. I travelled to incredible places with unique characters. Travelling shaped my style of photography. I am always looking for stories and I love to highlight details that come from different cultures. I adore all the natural elements and textures in the interiors because they create balance and harmony and let those stories unfold.
Je m’appelle Fatima Sghiri. Je suis une photographe d’intérieur avec des racines belges et marocaines. Je vis entre Genève, Vaud et la vibrante Anvers, où j’ai commencé la photographie. Ma grand-mère fabriquait des meubles et c’est grâce à elle que j’ai été fascinée par les intérieurs et le design. De nombreux membres de ma famille ont créé des maisons uniques et je me souviens, dès mon plus jeune âge, à quel point je me sentais heureuse, calme et joyeuse dans un espace conçu avec harmonie. Aujourd’hui, je transmets ces sentiments et cette atmosphère dans mes photographies. J’aide les décorateurs d’intérieur et les architectes à créer des portfolios exceptionnels afin qu’ils puissent faire connaître leur vision à un public plus large et trouver le meilleur client. À l’âge de 22 ans, je suis partie pour New York avec un portfolio de poche. Je voulais développer mes compétences en photographie et j’ai assisté Marco Glaviano aux célèbres Pier 59 Studios. J’adore tous les éléments naturels et les textures dans les intérieurs parce qu’ils créent un équilibre et une harmonie et permettent à ces histoires de se dérouler.
